Hi

My name is Jade and I am a new blogger on this blog. I don't read as quick as Katherine does but I will do my best to give you reviews and suggestions of brilliant books!

So as my first post I am going review two of my favourite books from an absolutely fantastic series...

The first book in The Lunar Chronicles is Cinder, a gripping brilliant beginning,  perfect to get you hooked for the rest of the series. Cinder is a mechanic living in New Beijing, working for her stepmother and trying to avoid the life threatening disease spreading quickly through the city. However her story takes a dramatic twist when she finds herself caught between a debate from one to planet to this....!
This story is gripping from the very beginning and with perfectly relatable characters - even if their world is completly different to ours! Myself and my friends were very lucky to be able to meet Marissa Meyer at a book signing of whome is really lovely!

This is a brilliant book and I hope you give it a try. Thank you for reading my first review and I hope you enjoyed it :)

Spirit and Dust (Goodnight Family #2) by Rosemary Clement-Moore

SPOILER FREE!

Date released: 16th June 2013 (First published 14th May 2013)
Pages: 384
Author: Rosemary Clement-Moore
Blurb: Daisy Goodnight can speak to the dead. It’s not the result of a head injury or some near-death experience. She was just born that way. And she’s really good at it. Good enough to help the police solve the occasional homicide.

But helping the local authorities clear cold cases is one thing. Being whisked out of chemistry class by the FBI and flown to the scene of a murder/kidnapping in Minnesota? That’s the real deal.

Before the promotion can go to Daisy’s head, she’s up to her neck in trouble. The spirits are talking, and they’re terrified. There’s a real living girl in danger. And when Daisy is kidnapped by a crime boss with no scruples about using magic—and Daisy—to get what he wants, it looks like hers is the next soul on the line

Spirit and Dust had everything I need in a good book; the witty and likable main character Daisy Goodnight, a genius love interest and a fascinating mystery.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

4.5 Stars.

Date Released: 5th February 2013
Pages: 461
Blurb:
Our lips
touch
and I know I'm going to split at the seams. He kisses me softly then strongly like he's lost me and he's found me and I'm slipping away and he's never going to let me go.

Juliette has escaped from The Reestablishment. Now she's free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch. Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible. Haunted by her past and terrified of her future, Juliette knows that she will have to make some life-changing choices. Choices that may involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life

Although I did give Unravel Me a 4.5 star rating, there was something a bit... off about this book. It was a combination of the slow start, the weird suit they made Juliette wear and the fact that I just missed Warner.
